Product Description
Zirconium oxide, also known as zirconia, belongs to the group of oxide ceramics and the "king" of oxide ceramics, unlike other ceramic materials, zirconium oxide is a material with a high wear-resistance, extremely smooth surfaces, low thermal conductivity and a high fracture toughness comparable with the metals. Very low and stable thermal conductivity is the outstanding property for zirconium oxide compared to the other oxide ceramics. Should be known that the parts made from zirconia are significantly more expensive than ones made of alumina ceramics.
Zirconia ceramics are used as tools for wire forming, auxiliaries in welding processes, materials for crowns and bridges in the dental industry, insulating rings in thermal processes, and oxygen measurement cells in lambda probes.
Zirconium oxide obtains its outstanding properties through the addition of stabilizers, such as magnesium oxide or yttrium oxide.
