Application

 

1. Neodymium-doped yttrium aluminum garnet is used in laser technology. It is also used to make neodymium glass. Because of its excellent absorption of ultraviolet and infrared rays, it is used to make precision instruments. It is a raw material for making metal neodymium and various neodymium alloys and permanent magnet alloys. Can be used as glass purple colorant. In the ceramic industry, it is used as an admixture of high temperature porcelain glaze and as an admixture of ceramic capacitors. The aerospace field is used to make alloy materials, adding 1.5% ~ 2.5% neodymium oxide to magnesium or aluminum alloy can improve the high temperature performance, air tightness and corrosion resistance of the alloy. In the medical field, nano-yttrium oxide aluminum garnet lasers doped with nano-neodymium oxide are used instead of scalpels for removing surgical or disinfecting wounds. In addition, nano-yttrium oxide aluminum garnets doped with nano-neodymium oxide produce short-wave laser beams, which are used industrially for welding and cutting thin materials with a thickness of less than 10mm.
2. Neodymium compounds are high purity, mainly used for single crystal growth. Neodymium can compensate for Fe3+(yellow), making the glass colorless and particularly bright. It reacts with oxide, which is used as an oxidant of Fe2+. Neodymium and Erbium can be used to make crystalline glass. Neodymium compounds are used to filter the coloring of colored glass. The introduction of 1% to 5% neodymium trioxide in glass or its crystals can provide a fine, bright red tone with purple reflections. When mixed with other dyes, Neodymiumruby, alexandrite, azare, and royalite colors can be obtained. The recommended products are 95% neodymium carbonate and 95% neodymium sesquioxide. Neodymium oxide, melting point 2270ºC, is the main ingredient of admixtures in the ceramic industry, suitable for high temperature enamels, and can provide a reddish purple color. The recommended products are 95% neodymium carbonate,95% neodymium oxide,99.9% neodymium oxide. Neodymium oxide is also used as an admixture for ceramic capacitors. The recommended product is 95% neodymium oxide (containing a small amount of Na2O), which is a special development of ceramic capacitors.
